1. Can I visit your store?
Yes our store is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10am – 6pm. We open Thursdays 10am – 8pm and Saturdays 9am – 5pm.

2. The item I want to order says Available on Back Order, what does this mean?

This means that we may not have the physical stock at our store, however, we should be able to order this from the manufacturer and have it delivered to you. This process would only take between 2 and 5 days unless we contacted you otherwise.

3. What are your shipping options?

We offer our customers a range of shipping options, for delivery all orders are sent on a next day service via our chosen courier at the time (currently DHL). Whilst we endeavour to process and dispatch orders on the same day (if ordered before 12pm), during busy times this process may take between 2 and 3 days.
Other shipping options include click and collect in store.

4. Is my bat ready for use?

A new bat should always be “knocked in” before use, this must be done and will require patience. Traditionally this procedure is done by a bat mallet and hitting the blade repeatedly in all areas including the edges.

You should knock the blade gently at the start of the process and become harder when you near completion. Bats usually take between 6 and 8 hours to be fully knocked in for match use.

5. Will my bat need oiling?

All bats supplied by MR Cricket Hockey will have had an initial oil when arriving from the manufacturer.

We recommend that a natural blade should have at least two light coats of oil to the face, edges, toe and back. This should only be applied with a soft clean cloth. Wipe off any excess oil.

During the season the face and edge of the bat should be given a rub down with some fine sandpaper and given a light oil. Please be aware that a bat/blade may suffer more by being over oiled than under oiled.

6. Bat size guide

Choosing the correct size bat is vital for the development of all cricketers.

We only sell English Willow bats and always recommend a player visit the shop to get a real feel for such an important purchase.

7. What size helmet do I need?

A properly fitting helmet should have the peak sat horizontally, it should feel firm, comfortable and with not too much movement in any direction.

The correct head measurement, will run from the middle of the forehead, above the eyebrows, to just above the ears and round to the middle of the back of the head.

Once a helmet is used regularly the internal padding will mould to the shape of the head.

8. Do you do bat repairs?

MR Cricket Hockey will contact your bat manufacturer if you feel it is in need of repair. Please contact us as soon as possible before the bat becomes further damaged and possibly beyond such repair.

There will be a cost for these repairs unless the manufacturer believes there to be a fault, which is not the fault of the user.

9. General Advice

• Moisture – is a danger to your bat especially through the toe, this will cause swelling and increase the chances of splitting the willow.

• Heat – too dry and your bat will crack and split. Keep your bat in a moderate   temperature.
